Family & Theme Park Hotel Deals
Family Hotel Deals
Take a look at these handy tips for finding deals on family friendly hotels.
Look for Hotels Where Kids Stay Free
Many hotels and resorts that cater to families allow children 18 and under to stay free of charge if they use existing bedding. This is particularly convenient if you book a room with two king or two queen beds, so that everyone can have their own space.
If your children are teenagers and balk at the idea of sharing a room with their parents, turn your search to suites. Many hotel suites have a separate bedroom and a living area with a sleeper sofa.
Seek Out Package Deals
If you're traveling with your family, you're probably going on a trip for leisure rather than for business, so you should head to a location that offers fun as well as a place to lay your head for the night. Often, resorts such as Disney will offer fantastic package deals for families who go to the resort and then stay overnight with them. The package may include items such as theme park admission, transportation to the park, or vouchers for free or discounted meals. You may even be able to get a free night at a hotel if you pay for a certain number of nights.
Even if the hotel you choose is not near a theme park, you may still be able to get some package discounts. For example, some hotels offer free or discounted admission to nearby attractions, such as museums or performances.
Use Coupons and Online Deals
Travel websites may offer exclusive deals on stays at specific hotels, so be sure to check these out. Sometimes, these are last-minute deals or are restricted to certain dates, but if you are flexible with your time of travel, it's worth taking a look.
Also be sure to search for coupons. You may be able to get a percentage off your hotel stay or a flat discounted room rate for your family.
Pick the Perfect Travel Dates
Your children's school schedules may restrict when you can travel, but if the kids are homeschooled or attend a school with a schedule that is different from most, take advantage of that flexibility. Try to travel on weekdays and during spring or fall, when family hotels are likely to be less full and therefore more affordable. Even if your kids have a standard school schedule, you may be able to get lower rates by traveling at the very end or very beginning of summer vacation.
