Nichola Prested
Most people don't think about the carbon footprint of the new shirt or pants they purchased. However, Nichola Prested
does.
Nichola is a designer who recycles, renovates and refashions clothes as part of her project Wardrobe Refashion. The project is a pledge to refrain from purchasing new manufactured fashion as a way of doing our part to protect the planet. The Australian designer creates fashions for herself, three children as well as for charity and special requests.
Nichola is an inspiring Change Agent changing the way people dress and think about their clothing. She enlisted thousands of people to pledge to stop purchasing new manufactured clothing. Her project challenges people to spend 2, 4 or 6 months --- or life, without purchasing new clothing and to refashion, recycle and renovate what's sitting in their closets.
GreenMyStyle rates Nichola’s work in the top 10 ethical websites for fashion. When Nichola isn’t busy sewing, she’s building a community around eco-conscious fashion. You can read more about her work on Changents.com.
