Magic Johnson
It was 20 years ago that Magic Johnson set out to improve lives and the conditions of under-served communities. Most notably, Johnson wanted to advance higher education for deserving minority youth. 20 years later, through the dedicated efforts of the Magic Johnson Foundation (MJF) and the crafty use of his celebrity, Johnson has triumphed and achieved success as a champion for minority communities.
The efforts of the Magic Johnson Foundation have raised social awareness and scholarship dollars. Numerous corporations and business leaders have joined with MJF over the years to promote the importance of getting an education. It is because of these partnerships with that scores of talented and deserving minority students continue to receive advanced degrees at our Nation’s top colleges and universities.
According to Johnson, “We are grateful to the business leaders who remain
steadfast in accomplishing significant social objectives and advancing higher education.
Without them, our efforts would not be possible. These innovative, socially responsible
companies contribute to the well-being of society and seek to improve the quality of life
for all people.”
