Kevin Sorbo
Kevin Sorbo is active in supporting the Los Angeles based organization, A World Fit For Kids! whose award winning program is being taught to groups across the country.
A World Fit For Kids! is a physical activity and youth development program that recently received the Gold Medal from the California Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports as the 2007 “outstanding organization that positively impacts physical activity and fitness levels of California’s children and youth.”
Fourteen years of experience and serving over 130,000 students has equipped WFIT to successfully get kids moving and becoming healthy role models in some of the most economically challenged communities of Los Angeles. Today, improving students’ fitness levels and overall health is critically important in order to combat the massive economic and social ills of overweight and inactivity, including childhood obesity and type 2 diabetes.
Mr. Sorbo has been the Chair and Spokesperson for A World Fit For Kids! since 1997. He joined the organization "because of its commitment to improving the health and well-being of youth, and because of the powerful model of older kids teaching younger kids… saving two lives in the process."
