Jim Reynolds
Jim Reynolds, better known to many as Commander Abe Carver of Days of our Lives, is dedicated to giving back to a number of causes from the Fremon Centre Theatre which he founded to veteran support organizations. Reynolds is the chairman of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) 2009 National Salute to Hospitalized Veterans through which he will lead VA's annual patient recognition program inviting the public to visit and honor hospitalized veterans. He serves as the national spokesperson for more than 131,000 volunteers serving veterans at VA facilities across the nation.
We recently had the opportunity to speak with Jim, to discuss his support of the Fremont Centre Theatre.
GoodSearch: Why did you start this theater?
Jim: My wife and I started it together. There are so many wonderful writers and we wanted to create a place to showcase their work. At the theater, we’ve specialized in plays that are original, unique and obscure and have put on some wonderful shows that have moved on to larger theaters.
GoodSearch: What other charitable work do you do?
Jim: I’ve been involved in more than 300 fundraising events in the past ten years, raising money for causes ranging from the Haven House Women’s Shelter, to the Pasadena Humane Society to the National Asthma Center.
GoodSearch: How is GoodSearch helping your causes?
Jim: Ever since I found out about GoodSearch, it’s the only search engine I use!
