Ashley Judd joined YouthAIDS as Global Ambassador in 2002 after seeing the effects of HIV/AIDS on communities and children in the United States and around the globe. With no cure in sight, and the realization that education is the only way to prevent the spread of this disease, Ashley uses her celebrity status to speak on behalf of those without a voice and to promote YouthAIDS' programs to provide young adults with immediate solutions for fighting AIDS.

Speaking out in Hollywood and around the world, Ashley’s tireless efforts raise awareness and much needed funding for YouthAIDS prevention and education programs.

In 2004, Ashley traveled to Thailand and Cambodia, visiting clinics and schools, and speaking to youth one-on-one about HIV. Last year, Ashley joined YouthAIDS on a tour of Kenya, Madagascar and South Africa to see YouthAIDS prevention and education initiatives firsthand. This past May, Ashley visited Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua with Salma Hayek and our new Ambassador for Latin America, Juanes.
