Description
Zohar’s mission is to make dance accessible, inclusive, vibrant, relevant, and integral to its community. Through programs targeted to reach those unlikely to experience dance, Zohar is dedicated to using dance to excite and engage youth. Founded in 1979 by Ehud Krauss, Artistic Director, Zohar has served communities in Silicon Valley for 28 years with a range of artistic and outreach programs unexcelled by other organizations of its size. Based at the Cubberley Community Center in Palo Alto, Zohar’s activities have grown and diversified to become acknowledged nationally and internationally as model, community-based arts education programs. Zohar’s outreach programs include IndepenDANCE, teaching dance to children that are underserved and/or have special needs; and Juvie Jazz, teaching dance to incarcerated youth.
