Description

The Young Women Christian Association is a worldwide organization whose goal is to meet the needs of women and girls wherever they may be. The first YWCA program started in the late 1800's by women who had religiously based concern for creating opportunities for growth, leadership and development. The YWCA's mission is to be a leading provider of services and programs to individuals by emphasizing health and wellness, childcare, youth and family development and women's issues. To aid in the mission YWCA of Corpus Christi has provided valuable programs such as YW-Teens, Child Care Connection, and Y Women in Careers. The YWCA brings together diverse members fo the community who strive to create opportunities for women's growth, leadership, and empowerment to attain a common vision: peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all people.
