The YWCA of Evansville was founded in 1911. Its purpose is eliminating racism and empowering women. The YWCA of Evansville currently operates a domestic violence shelter, transitional housing program, emergency housing program, outreach and mentoring for girls in grades 3-12 (Live Y'ers) and much more.
