Description

The purpose of this support group is for newly diagnosed and existing TYPE 1 Diabetic children, youth, adolescents, and their families. It was started to provide them with a forum to communicate their needs, feelings, thoughts, coping strategies, and Diabetes awareness and education. We also have a Yuba Sutter Diabetes Resource Center that assists children, youth, adolescents, adults, and their families, who have Type 1 or Type 2 Diabetes with the diabetic lifestyle by bringing together medical professionals, pharmaceutical company representatives, diabetic advocates, schools, police, and the community as a whole. In addition, the resource center provides free educational material, computer glucose pattern downloads, Diabetes Awareness outreach presentations to schools, a resource library to check out materials, Camp McCumber Diabetic summer camp sponsorships, and many more, for children, youth, adolescents, adults, and families who live with Type 1 or Type 2 Diabetes.
