Description
The Yellowstone Art Museum exhibits, interprets, collects, and preserves art, with an emphasis on Montana and surrounding regions, for the enrichment, education, inspiration, and enjoyment of all. Located in Billings, Montana, the Museum exhibits contemporary works by artists who are locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally recognized. Other offerings include the full spectrum of arts education and events: youth and adult education programs; lectures; musical performances; and fundraisers such as the annual Art Auction. The new (August 2010) "Visible Vault" is a state-of-the-art museum collection storage facility. The Vault is open to the public and offers a rare glimpse at what goes on behind the scenes at an art museum. Visitors can interact with artists-in-residence who have a dedicated studio space in the Vault.
