A 501(c)(3) community-based arts and education nonprofit which develops, implements, and supports arts-integrated education and employment programs for children and youth with special needs.
SAIL is a pubic charter school and multi-dimensional K-9 learning community using an arts-infused curriculum to teach all subjects while meeting standards of learning. A majority of SAIL students have special ed needs and reside in the most under-resourced District neighborhoods. Efforts are made to target children not succeeding in other scholastic environments—especially those with learning difficulties and/or disabilities.
The ARTiculate Employment Training Program is a vocational and life skills program that uses the artist’s studio and ARTiculate gallery as a learning environment. Participants are youth with disabilities transitioning from school to work, college, or other training programs.
The ARTiculate Gallery is the only full-functioning youth retail gallery in DC.
