Description

We are a 501c3 non-profit organization located at Wrightsville Beach, NC. Each summer from 01 May to 15 September, we monitor Wrightsville Beach early each morning for the huge tracks left behind on the beach during the night by nesting sea turtles. Once we verify the location of the eggs, we mark the area off and post signs to identify and protect the nest. After about 60 days, volunteer groups sit out with the nests to await the arrival of the hatchlings. Once they emerge we make sure the hatchlings reach the Atlantic successfully so they can begin their long oceanic journey.

We also provide educational programs for local schools and other organizations.

Most of the funds we raise are donated to help provide care for sick and injured sea turtles recovering at the Topsail Island Sea Turtle Hospital.
