Description
Located at the site of Tacoma’s original working port in a 105-year-old wheat warehouse, the Working Waterfront Maritime Museum showcases Tacoma’s rich maritime legacy. Visitors are able to explore the fascinating stories of ingenuity and enterprise that shaped our city’s working waterfront.
The mission of the Working Waterfront Maritime Museum is to celebrate Tacoma's maritime heritage--past, present, and future by providing programs such as a working boat shop where volunteers learn how to build and restore historic vessels, a children's discovery zone where they can create their own model sail boat to take home and the only venue telling Tacoma's history.
