Description
Workforce Connections, Inc. is a 501 (c)(3) organization that administers YES AmeriCorps in La Crosse Wisconsin. In the YES AmeriCorps program, approximately 50 AmeriCorps members commit a year of their lives to serve our community. The mission of the program states: YES AmeriCorps members leave a footprint in our communities by increasing opportunities for success, promoting literacy, reducing hunger, expanding volunteer services and… Getting Things Done! To fulfill the mission, members are placed at Host Service Sites (schools, non-profit organizations, faith-based and government agencies) throughout the Coulee Region. Members are involved in a variety of activities including: tutoring and academic assistance, reducing hunger, recruiting and managing volunteers, assisting economically disadvantaged individuals with job skills training, soft skills and remedial education as needed, addressing public safety concerns and meeting other human needs.
