The Women’s Foundation of California is the only statewide public foundation that is investing in women and girls throughout California to build a more just and equitable society for all.
Since 1979, the Foundation has awarded more than $19 million in grants to over 1,000 community-based organizations in every region of our diverse state. The Foundation invests in five areas:
Economic Justice
Reproductive and Sexual Rights
Environmental Health and Justice
Young Women's Development and Leadership
Strengthening Women's Philanthropy
The Foundation leverages grantmaking with advocacy in local and state policy work to push for change that impacts women and girls, our families and communities. Our work has resulted in policy wins that address some of the most critical issues of our time.
