Women on the Way Recovery Center (WOTW) is a 501.c(3) tax exempt nonprofit corporation licensed by California as a residential substance abuse recovery program. Since its founding in 1995, WOTW graduated 240 women. Before entering our program, they suffered episodes of homelessness, were substance addicted, dysfunctional parents. Taxpayers lost $100,000s in first-responder calls, emergency room visits, and jail and prison expenditures. Post graduation, they are good citizens instead of criminals; taxpayers instead of tax expenders; good parents instead of dysfunctional mothers. Their children, who were suffering under the dysfunctional parenting of addicts, are now receiving unconditional love and nurturing from mentally, emotionally, and morally healthy mothers. WOTW was awarded the Volunteer Nonprofit of the Year by the City of Hayward, and certificate of appreciation by the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.
