Description
Woman Set Free (WSF) is a faith-based, non-denominational, non-profit corporation founded in Rockwall, Texas, in the spring of 2006. The organization works to meet the spiritual and the practical needs of women who are or have been in prison. During each hour and a half visit that WSF makes inside prison walls, time is given to praise, worship, and Bible study in both large and small group settings. Each visit is concluded with an artistic dramatization and an uplifting dismissal song.
As it is continuing to grow its inside-the-walls ministry, WSF is also working to build its capacity to serve as a spiritual and practical resource for women who have left prison. In its beyond-the-walls ministry, WSF is working to provide resources for education, housing, clothing, and employment along with faith-based support and mentoring to women who demonstrate a commitment to becoming productive citizens of their community.
