Description
Hosted by Native Americans whose goal is to mend the 'sacred hoop' of life. To bring families of all races together, to bring down the walls of misunderstanding , to share a bit of all cultures through the universal language of drumming, music, dance, story and food--to make the world a better place to live. Held annually the 4th full weekend in August at Hawkeye Antique Acres (August 23-25, 2013), Exit 117, I-80, rural Waukee. Ethnic foods & crafts, children's craftrs, and camping with electricity are available on the grounds. You may also make your reservation for Friday or Saturday Night during the pow wow at the White Eagle Bed and Breakfast--spend a night in a tipi (teepee).
