    about

The mission of the WMMI is to educate the public about the history and continuing contributions of mining in the American West through its collection, restoration, exhibition and interpretation of artifacts related to mining, metallurgy and their support industries. The Western Museum of Mining and Industry is guided by the principle that financial stability allows for greater opportunity to achieve our educational mission. We will be innovative and effective in providing services that will engage the local community. To this end, we recognize that our visitors represent different ages, cultures, genders, races and physical capabilities. As an institute of learning and discovery, the staff not only teaches the works of others, but also actively contributes to what is taught. We will also lead the way for visionaries and scholars by developing partnerships with compatible organizations
