Description
Established over 30 years ago by several area churches in response to severe poverty in the Cleveland, Ohio community, the West Side Catholic Center (WSCC) whose mission is grounded in faith, hope, love and respect for those we serve, assists all who come in need of food, clothing, shelter and advocacy. The West Side Catholic Center has focused on being the gateway to the most basic needs of Cleveland's poor and homeless, regardless of the individual’s religious beliefs. The hospitality and welcome extended by staff, volunteers and supporters has included food, clothing, shelter, companionship, compassion and help with problems small and large. The West Side Catholic Center continues to break down the barriers between subsistence level existence and true independent living. Financially independent of the Diocese of Cleveland and Catholic Charities, every dollar spent must first be raised as all services are provided free of charge.
