The West End Community Empowerment Project (WECEP) began as a grassroots effort to provide necessary opportunities to citizens, enhance their quality of life, and improve conditions of the Georgetown Street community. The West End Community Empowerment Project (WECEP) of Lexington, Inc. is a ‘grassroots,’ non-profit 501 C-3 organization, designed by the people for the people. Our mission is to “expand learning opportunities” to overcome challenges that create barriers to success. The organization provides a unique concept in the Sankofa Community Mall which includes a number of programs such as the: Ujima Academy School Aged Youth Camp, Cross Roads Adult Services, performing arts, volunteerism, community service, family services,,and community development.
