Description

We serve inner-city children in grades 1-8 with a special learning & tutorial center. Our goal is to assist the child, the family, and the school in giving each child a chance to accomplish their grade level and move forward. Last semester 77% of the participants made Honor Rolls in their respective schools. Besides Educational classes, we also offer music & cultural lessons to each child. We work daily with the teachers, principals, and Knox County Project G.R.A.D. program, Emerald Youth Foundation, and Knoxville Area Urban League. In addition, we do a Senior Citizens program for the community each week including a lunch each Friday, weekly phone call to check-up, and routine medical house calls by a LPN if there is any type of medical problem. We have a total of 65 children in our regular program, 68 in our summer program, and 15 Senior Citizens. (That is full capacity.)
