Description
Wernle Children’s Home, Inc. is a 501 (c)(3) not-for-profit organization that was founded in 1879 by the Lutheran synods of Indiana and Ohio. Wernle is a ministry of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). Wernle provides comprehensive treatment in a residential setting to boys ranging in ages from six to twenty-one. All of the children at Wernle have been the victim of some type of domestic violence, such as physical abuse, neglect, or sexual abuse. During their stay, we emphasize our core purpose, “Rebuilding relationships…Restoring hope.”
