Description

Brackett Street House is part of Project DOT (Divert Offenders to Treatment). This is an innovative program that is run in conjunction with other area agencies. The program is located in the West End of Portland, Maine and is designed to serve adults living with serious and persistent mental illness. By expanding services, six men have been able to move to the Brackett Street House where they receive 24-hour care, 365 days a year.

The focus is to structure life in a way that best promotes growth and wellness while providing a home-like environment. Clients are encouraged to cope with the challenges of everyday living with increased independence by developing daily living skills, obtaining education regarding mental illness, and improving and learning how to manage symptoms with an individual treatment plan.
