Description

The mission of the Vogel Alcove is to help alleviate the plight of homelessness in Dallas by improving the lives of young homeless children through the provision of free services such as a licensed early education, family counseling, play therapy, nutritious meals, and basic health care to children six weeks to six years old living with their families in area homeless and domestic violence shelters.

Because of the Alcove’s 20-year legacy providing quality, licensed childcare and social services for children victimized by homelessness, 19 area affiliated homeless shelters, domestic violence shelters, and housing programs depend on the Alcove to provide critical services to the homeless families residing in their shelters. At the Alcove, children develop social and interpersonal skills, enjoy supervised play, learn basic educational skills important to their long-term development, and are afforded the opportunity to blossom in a stable, nurturing, and loving environment.
