Vivian B. Adams School in Ozark, Alabama has established and maintained a premier reputation for serving the needs of individuals with intellectual disabilities since 1971. Our school serves individuals from six counties in Southeast Alabama ranging in age from three to eighty three. It is our goal to offer our individuals the distinct opportunity to learn, to be included in community activities, to build self-confidence and self-expression skills, to achieve personal satisfaction and to reveal and communicate understanding and knowledge without traditional constraints.
Our true impact is best revealed in statements from our individuals, their families, their caregivers, and our community supporters:
“Our son Ryan, has been a part of Vivian B.Adams School for over 23 years. The structure and routine at VBAS gives him a sense of value, self-worth, and self-esteem….here he is given a purpose. Ryan has been afforded so many opportunities to function with his peer group. He goes the same places other 31 year olds go, but he is in a cocoon of safety with a support system others his age no longer need. VBAS has been a lifeline to our entire family. Sidney and Susan Owens”
