Vital Theatre Company, a nonprofit theatre, is a community of artists who believe that a shared theatrical experience profoundly affects people’s lives. If one adult is inspired, if one child’s imagination is awakened, if one student is empowered, our theatre is important and vital. We believe that theatre and theatre in education keep a community’s life blood pumping. Vital develops and produces 3-5 original children’s musicals each season and Vital Voices Arts in Education provides and implements theatre arts integration models in schools throughout NYC. Vital Voices is a lead partner with Brooklyn Theatre Arts HS, Bronxdale HS and Fordham HS for the Arts. At Manhattan School for Children, PS 6, 24, 166, 199 & 452 we provide residencies that tie into core curriculum. We tour our shows at subsidized rates extending theatre to audiences who might otherwise not be able to afford it. Our shows have reached over 284,000 children & families and provided opportunities for over 3400 artists.
