Description
Vincent Village opened on December 19, 1989 as Vincent House, a transitional shelter serving the needs of homeless families with children in a renovated convent belonging to St. Hyacinth’s Church. Since 1989, Vincent Village has served over 625 families in the original Vincent House and has developed five programs, including 30 units of affordable rental housing, designed to provide a continuum of care as families move from shelters to permanent housing and jobs. The name Vincent House was changed to Vincent Village in April 2008 to more accurately reflect the expanded services provided.
