Description

The El Salvador Mission Trip is a group of 14 Villanova students and our Campus Ministry adviser. For two weeks during Winter Break we will work with the Handmaids of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and their Project FIAT (Faith in Action Together) in San Salvador, El Salvador. Our work will include building houses and roads with the local communities, nurturing malnourished children, distributing food at a soup kitchen, and spending time at a home for abandoned children. We will leave the comfort, efficiency, and competitiveness of our lives at Villanova to experience the limiting circumstances with which billions of the world’s people live. We will also take time to learn about the cultural and political situation of the country. We intend to work in solidarity with the Salvadorians by learning about them and the situation they live in. Our group believes in and supports PFI’s mission to work with volunteers who desire to collaborate in making our world more genuinely human.
