Description

Engineers Without Borders - USA (EWB-USA) is a non-profit humanitarian organization established to partner with developing communities worldwide in order to improve their quality of life. This partnership involves the implementation of sustainable engineering projects, while involving and training internationally responsible engineers and engineering students. Here at Villanova University we posses our own chapter of the national organization Engineers without Borders - USA. Our EWB chapter was revived with new spirit by Sarah Arscott and her close friends in 2005. Under her direction, EWB at Villanova was once again an organized and productive chapter of EWB-USA. Since then, our chapter has grown from a small club of friends with a common interest in engineering and service to a group of over 75 passionate members.

We have a wide range of services and opportunities. We organize projects in the USA and internationally. Such projects include partnering with Habitat for Humanity on sites in Wyoming and designing communications systems for indigenous communities in Panama. We even serve the greater Philadelphia area by running high school outreach programs and working with boys and girls clubs. We also have monthly meetings, socials, and have occasionally hosted guest lecturers.
