Description
The mission of Viernes Culturales/Cultural Fridays, Inc. is to enrich the vibrancy of Miami, Florida's historic Little Havana neighborhood and business district by preserving, cultivating and promoting local arts, culture, heritage and small businesses.
Our Viernes Culturales festival takes place the last Friday evening of every month. During the festival, SW 8 St. (between 14th through 17th Avenues) is transformed into an open air gallery with artists and artisans displaying a variety of unique and high quality creations. Most artists are originally from Cuba or other parts of Latin America and the Caribbean.
A variety of music and dance acts perform on the main stage, from youth performers to folkloric dancers to popular salsa bands. Local restaurants, 11 local art galleries, unique retail stores and the historic Tower Theater all celebrate and participate. Visitors can also take a free historic tour of Little Havana during the festival.
