Description
Victim Assistance Program is a private, non-profit organization. It is one of the oldest victim services programs in the United States. While it officially began in 1974 its advocacy for victims began in 1972 and its services cross 75 years under the parent organization: The Furnace Street Mission.
Its services range across continuum of the victim experience from crime scene through post-criminal justice activity. VAP focuses on comprehensive, free and confidential assistance for all victims of crime. The mandate is to provide these services on demand- 24 hours a day and seven days a week.
