Description

Since commencement of Operation Iraqi Freedom US war casualties have topped more than 60,000 with many of the injured suffering amputation of limbs, multiple amputations, spinal cord injuries and blindness.
Most of the injured troops transitioning from active war zones are confronted with obstacles to mobility resulting in
lack of access to critical healthcare services when needed. Recognizing this need VansForVets.Org was established as a non-profit corporation for the purpose of providing handicap-equipped conveyances, and other modified vehicles to disabled and
homeless US Veterans and their families', free of charge. VansForVets.Org received its 501 C 3 certification in late 2008. Since that time VansForVets.Org has placed six vehicles, two motor homes, two small ships and six motorized wheel chairs free of charge to its applicants. To date VansForVets.Org has received more than 25,000 requests for vehicles and continues to fill these needs one person at a time.
