UCAM's mission is to empower disadvantaged people of all cultures to reach theri potential by offering education, vocational, and supportive services in a caring, non-sectarian environment. This is accomplished by supporting the whole family through child development services at Central Care for Children; providing English Language Learners with English and related education services (math computer learning, citizenship, job readines) which opens avenues for jobs, socialization, and participation in the general community; providing support for basic health and human dignity through services to homeless persons and others of low income; and providing consulting, creative development support and facilitiation to community-based organization and individuals to promote viability of the urban core.
