The Urban Collaborative Accelerated Program (UCAP) serves urban middle schoolers who
are at serious risk of dropping out of school because they have been held
back at least one year prior to enrolling in UCAP. At UCAP they are given the
opportunity to complete three years in two and develop better academic and
social skills. A key element of the school's success is the extensive range
of afterschool academic, recreational and cultural enrichment programs
offered. These programs are funded entirely by private donations. which are raised through a support organization, the Fund for UCAP.
