Description
The Prytanean Women's Honor Society is the oldest undergraduate women's honor society in the United States (founded in UC Berkeley in 1900 and UC Davis in 1952). Prytanean seeks to recognize and honor the scholastic achievement of undergraduate women; encourage fellowship among women with diverse goals and interests; provide community service to the University and community; and define positive roles and encourage leadership for women.
Over the years, Prytanean has served with a number of locally and nationally-renowned service organizations such as Davis Community Meals, Davis Senior Center, Families First, the American Cancer Society, Interfaith Rotating Shelter, Yolo County Food Bank, and more. In regards to fundraising, Prytanean's charity of choice has been Yolo County's Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Center, providing the center with thousands of dollars in much-needed funds each year.
