United Way of the Midlands supports a network of human service programs, builds partnerships, recruits and refers volunteers, and finds help for people in need.
Since 1923, United Way of the Midlands has worked to mobilize the caring power of our community in Douglas and Sarpy Counties in Nebraska and Pottawattamie County in Iowa. We work to coordinate the delivery of local human care programs, to make the best use of our community's limited resources. We forge partnerships between existing programs. We demand results from funded programs to prove that donor money is invested wisely. We engage a diverse group of volunteers year-round. And,we raise money to help support 145 vital human service programs in the metropolitan Omaha area.
