Description
UW of Greenbrier Valley provides funding to thirty-two health and human service agencies located in Greenbrier, Monroe and Pocahontas Counties, West Virginia. We started two initiatives within the last year. Warming Hands and Hearts addresses the need for assistance to low-income families with the high cost of home heating. A Family Coordination Oversight Collaborative was established in all three counties and is made up of church groups, other health and human service providers, Dept. of Health and Human Services and other interested. persons. Born Learning, the second initiative, is a collaborative effort with early childcare providers in the three counties. The initiative will help parents, caregivers and communities take action to provide quality learning opportunities for young children ages 2-5.
