The Greater Longview United Way, a community problem solver, conducts annual campaigns to raise funds for 19 local health and human service agengices providing services to Longview and Gregg County. Agencies are the American Red Cross, the Association of Retarded Citizens of Gregg County, Boys & Girls Club of Gregg County, East Texas Child Advocates, East Texas Council on Alcohol and Drug Abuse, East Texas Area Council of the Boy Scouts, East Texas Literacy Council, Fredonia Place, Girl Scouts of the Texas Council, Longview Child Develop. Center, Longview Comm. Ministries, Longview Habitat for Humanity, Parenting Resource Center, Salvation Army, Deaf Action Center, Longview Interfaith Hospitality Network, SeeSaw Children's Place, & the Women's Center of East Texas. The United Way also houses and supports the INFOline of Gregg County, the county's only comprehensive health and human service Information and Referral program & the GLUW/LU Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program.
