Description
We are a Sunday School affilicated with our church, United Latvian Ev. Luth. Church of Cleveland in Lakewood, Ohio. Our students meet every Sunday from 9:30-1:00. Students are taught by 13 teachers. Our program lends itself to afford each and every youngster the opportunity to grow spirtually and to develop their sense of Latvian identity. All classes study the Latvian language, grammar, literature, religion, geography, history, singing, folk dancing, and crafts. Our school also has a program for students of Latvian heritage, but did not grow up speaking the language. Latvian is taught as a second language. We do not lack for challenges, but we work together to maintain our ethnic identity, our language, and our church Sunday School.
