Description
United for Change is a non-profit corporation, formed in January 2009, originating from Barack Obama’s request for a day of service (after being elected as president). We are a non-partisan, community outreach organization consisting of a growing number of caring people who want to channel their collective energy to be of service to our community.
As our organization’s direction was mapped out, it became clear that many members are family and friends of current and past military or veterans themselves, and are personally aware of the challenges veterans face. The decision for United for Change to reach out to help veterans who find themselves in difficult and dire circumstances was unanimous. Who better to serve than those that served us and our country? The magnitude of the situation was more desperate than anyone imagined. The Phoenix area alone has approximately 3,500 veterans that are homeless every night!
