Description
The Parents and Children Together at Tech (PACTT) Child Care Center, established in 1991, is a product of a unique partnership between United Cerebral Palsy of DE, Inc. organization and the Sussex County Vocational-Technical School District. The PACTT program provides quality early care and education to at-risk children and children with or without disabilities. The PACTT program also provides the opportunity for single, teen mothers to remain in school by providing a school-based child care program. Participating mothers also get invaluable parenting training through the PACTT program.
In addition, the PACTT program provides a "real-world" laboratory for Sussex Tech's Early Childhood Education technical program students. Secondary students enrolled in this career pathway gain first-hand knowledge and experience by working in and contributing to an actual working child care center, particularly one that provides services to such a diverse group of children.
