Description
Union de Vecinos is an organization building community power in East Los Angeles. We address community problems through organizing, developing leaders, building coalitions, and creating models for dialogue and democratic practices. Union de Vecinos is the only organization in East Los Angeles that organizes the community in a way that builds sustainable power. We focus on problems specific to local neighborhoods and common problems that impact the entire city. We promote a model for dialogue, community participation and democratic decision making throughout the city. The 1,500 volunteers and leaders in our Network of Neighborhood Committees organize the community to take collective action to make social change.
