Description
The Ugandan Water Project partners with individuals, schools, civic organizations, churches, businesses, and foundations to provide rain water collection tanks which are manufactured in Uganda and are installed on community buildings such as churches, schools, orphanages, and clinics. One 2,500 gallon tank provides enough drinking water for 100 families and has a 35 year lifespan. Once funding for a tank is available, it only takes 4-30 days for installation to be complete.
This simple process only costs $3,500, which is an insurmountable amount of money for our Ugandan brothers and sisters, but is not out of reach for us!
There are three major goals of this project:
1) Provide safe and accessible drinking water to communities across Uganda.
2) Strengthen communities by providing a shared resource that benefits all.
3) Facilitate relationships between sponsors in the US and communities in Uganda through interactive technology and short-term trips to Uganda.
