Description
A non-profit orgization in Northwest Illinois serving cases of child sexual and severe physical abuse in Jo Daviess, Stephenson and Carroll counties. Tyler's Justice Center coordinates law enforcement, counseling, child protective services and prosecution agencies to see that each victim is only interviewed about their abuse one time by a trained forensic interviewer. The interview is recorded so the victim can begin treatment immediately and law enforcement can prosecute the offender with the solid testimony from the interview. The staff at the center works with the victim and non-offending family members to see that all needs are met to begin a healing process. Tyler's Justice Center for Children served more than 600 cases of abuse in this very rural area in 2006.
