Description
The specific and primary purpose for which this club was formed is to carry on as a non-profit corporation providing a safe and dependable space where 12-step groups may hold their meetings and events. The Club also provides recovery literature, information, and other items necessary to recovering alcoholics, addicts, their friends and families. It does so by furnishing and maintaining physical facilities for 12-step meetings, education, and social uses. The 24 Club exists to provide service to its membership and the local community in the area of recovery from alcoholism and other addictions. The Club was established in 1988. It is a 501(c)(3), tax-exempt public charitable organization. It has been at its current location since inception. It is governed by a member-elected House Committee of 12 members or interested parties. It has a set of by-laws which govern its functions. Many of the Club's day-to-day operations are performed by volunteers.
