Description
Since 1911, the Phelps Stokes Fund has promoted education for human development in Africa, the African Diaspora in the Americas, Indigenous America, and underserved communities in the U.S. The Fund's activity is founded on the conviction that true education depends on a fundamental respect for human dignity, the development of the full capacities inherent in each human being, and the cultivation of social harmony. The Fund does not currently award grants or scholarships to individuals or other organizations. Through the generosity of private donors, foundations, and corporations and through grants from local, state, and federal government agencies, the Fund is able to address a variety of educational needs.
