"TNY has trained more than 11,000 Citizen Pruner volunteers to care for trees in their communities. TNY's adult and youth education and training programs encourage volunteer stewardship of neighborhood environmental resources. TNY also works with local community-based organizations and city, state and federal agencies to increase the number of street trees. TNY's nationally recognized programs have served as models for communities and citizen environmental action groups throughout the United States."
