Description
Tree Hill is a non-profit organization that has promoted its mission of environmental education, conservation and awareness for thirty-five years. This natural oasis in the heart of Jacksonville, Florida is a haven of wild flora and fauna. Four nature trails intersect with boardwalks overlooking two streams that flow through this urban wilderness area. A pyramid museum is filled with natural history exhibits that showcase the Pleistocene Epoch, Florida's earliest pre-historic history. Live animal displays, xericape gardens and a butterfly house complement learning stations in this outdoor classroom. Annually Tree Hill serves 90,000 people in school programs, nature tours, lectures, demonstrations and teacher workshops. Off-site programs are offered in community outreach. The annual butterfly festival is a signature event which attracts visitors from throughout the region. Tree Hill Nature Center is where LEARNING COMES NATURALLY.
